I consider myself a rap guru at this point. Sometimes, I feel myself losing this title when I see teens dancing or rapping to a song I've never heard of in my life. Then, I Google the lyrics and realize I don't even recognize the rapper.
The cycle goes a lil' something like this:
1. I open Spotify and play the song.
2. I like it.
3. I check out the artist's other songs and HATE them.
The only time this hasn't happened is when I listen to a young rapper from Memphis. I curated a playlist of my favs from Moneybagg Yo, BlocBoy JB, Key Glock and Xavier Wulf. (Don't worry, I'll get to Project Pat and all the other legends in another post.)
Thanks for listening!
