I've had a morning routine since my junior year of college, and ever since, it has changed my life immensely. It's so necessary to spend time with yourself before you go out into the world to deal with people.
I personally would be on the news if I hadn't learned how to meditate twice a day. Find out more about my routine below:
6:00 A.M.: Wake up with JOY! (Sometimes we carry the energy we had before we fell asleep, so it's important to find joy in the little things.)
6:05 A.M.: Read Bible verse of the day, listen to daily devotional
6:10 A.M.: Meditate/Positive visualizations
6:15 A.M.: Recite affirmations, take vitamins
6:30 A.M.: Work out (Yoga, strength training or Pilates)
7:00 A.M.: Eat breakfast, watch an episode or two of my favorite shows
I wake up at least four hours before I have to be somewhere for the day so I don't feel rushed. If you're scrambling for your keys 30 minutes before you have to be at work/school, the point of meditation goes out the window. So hit the snooze button ONCE if you have to (sometimes twice, because let's be honest) and then, GET UP! You'll feel so much better knowing you got up and started practicing healthy habits.
